Planting Out

We specialise in growing aquatic plants in large containers which are tended for up to three years in which time the plants root together in the soil forming a mat. This is much more resistant to the elements and helps prevent break up and erosion due to wave action generated by wind.

These mats are taken out of their containers and planted directly into the bank or bottom of the pond or lake at the optimum depth for the plant type.

In the case of formal ponds, where there is no natural bank or area for the plants to root into, we have an assortment of containers that these mats can be successfully transferred into. This can sometimes be a benefit as it will aid in certain aspects of your lake and pond maintenance.

In certain plant up locations, we only recommend indigenous (native) water plants. This could also be a condition of planning permission in certain wildlife areas, so as not to encourage invasive alien species. In our opinion this is very necessary in preserving a natural balance. We offer our experience and expertise in preserving this balance in helping you select the right water plants and by measures of control and isolation but also for already established plant life with our lake and pond maintenance service.
